A few nights ago, during a bout of anxiety-driven insomnia, I sat down and performed for the first time in over a year. No one was listening…the sound was only for myself…but I felt that release, that glorious release we feel after a performance.
Like all of us, this last year has been like a stationary whirlwind…how can so much happen while standing still? My creative drive was destroyed, faith in humanity upturned, and almost every ounce of progress with my mental health washed away. Personally, I have never felt so alone in my life.
A few weeks ago I camped at Dome Rock near Sequoia National Forest. This was the view at our campsite. Personally, I have never felt so much at peace in my life.
While this isn’t the only recording I have to share from this last year, I want this to be the first. It’s long, but if you have the time to listen, or even skim through, I hope it brings you some peace in your day.
